From 23 to 25 September 2026, our team was at Gallagher Convention Centre in Midrand for the South Africa Outdoor Exhibition. At booth 2A142, we opened a light-blue parasol above the stand, lined one wall with folded umbrellas and kept product literature on the front table. It was a compact display, but it gave visitors something a catalogue cannot: a chance to see the canopy shape and the folded products at the same time.

The open parasol showed its footprint at a glance. Along the side rail, visitors could see how much smaller the other umbrellas became when folded, and how different handles and shafts changed the feel of each sample. At the back of the stand, rolled fabrics, carry bags and collapsed frames offered another view of how outdoor products are stored and moved. These are ordinary details, but they matter when a buyer is planning shelf space, cartons or daily use.
The booth walls carried photographs of larger setups: beach and garden shade, tents and portable shelter. Full-size tents and awnings need more room than a trade stand allows. The photographs showed how they look in use; the folded frames and fabric samples gave visitors a closer view of what travels in the box.

Our work spans everyday rain umbrellas, beach umbrellas, patio umbrellas, tents, fishing umbrellas, folding canopies and awnings. There is no single specification that makes sense for all of them. A beach operator will ask how a parasol is anchored and carried across sand. A café may care more about how a patio umbrella sits among tables. A retailer looking at rain umbrellas might start with folded length, colour and pack size.
That is why seeing the products together was useful. A visitor could point to the shade shape overhead, then to a smaller umbrella on the wall, and explain what they actually needed. From there, a custom brief can be built around intended use, dimensions, frame and fabric choices, logo position and packaging. Those decisions are easier to make when the starting point is a real sample rather than a broad request for “an outdoor umbrella.”
Thank you to everyone who stopped by booth 2A142. We enjoyed meeting people face to face and putting the samples on the table. If we spoke at the exhibition, send us a photo of the item that caught your eye, along with its intended use and target size. We can then discuss the relevant options for that use.
For those who could not attend, you can browse our umbrellas and beach umbrellas online, and get in touch with a product brief when you are ready to talk through a project.
